Planting

We needed a little color in the front flower bed so the kids and I went to planting!! I really thought Kylie would be way into it and Curt would be off playing with something else, but it was the other way around! Kylie planted 3 or 4 and then went off to play and Curt stayed and played in the dirt and watering can .....he's definitely a boy!




Kylie was actually planting an acorn she found....she keeps asking when her tree will grow...





Yeah, I didn't think through the 'play' clothes too well before we went out....twice in the washer and it all came out!!



Yes, I let them play in the water after I cleaned all the dirt off them....I think I've come a long way from not letting Kylie leave the house without a bow to letting them play in the FRONT yard in the water hose in their clothes and Curt in a diaper!! (although Kylie still rarely leaves the house without a bow, but I'm a lot less physco about it)




Fun summer days!

Fashion show

Kylie did a fashion show the other night....complete with a made up song and dance about a hula dancer....who knows....these are the pics I caught before my battery in my camera died...

Dress up!

Kylie and Curt's bedtime is 8:00ish and Karalyn's isn't until 9:00ish, so when my kiddos went to bed, I got Karalyn time!! This is the first time she's wanted to dress up, so we did! It was a lot of fun just to spend time with her...most of the time we are having to police Kylie with anyone else, so it was nice to be with just Karalyn for a bit!

Although after Kylie saw these pictures she said we should have given some of the dress up stuff to Karalyn!!

Big Weekend

My sister and family came in for 4th of July weekend to hang out at the pool and just visit....we took the kids to play putt putt!

4th of July

We went and watched fireworks on the 4th....We put Curt to bed at 8 like always and then had to wake him up to go at 9:00....The fireworks weren't over until 10:00 and then we didn't leave until about 10:40 due to the traffic....Curt was terrified for the first 20 minutes...he just shook in my lap...he whined a little but never cried. In the end he would tolerate the fireworks, but you could tell he didn't really like them....Kylie of course absolutly loved them! The next fireworks we'll see will be over Cinderella's castle!!

This is a funny Curt video. What you can't see is the two teenage girls just to the right of the screen that were playing with Curt. As soon as he saw them looking at him, he would stand on his head! It was funny....he was so flirting!!

Amy Butler

Okay, my sister's sister-in-law, otherwise known as my brother-in-law's sister, or just as Becky, has an amazing craft and sewing ability...I read her blog and see all her crafts and just wonder, "Where does she get her spare time, because I need some of that!" And although I've met her a few times, I've never met her oh so cute daughter, but I read her blog and see pictures....So, saying this to say I won a giveaway on her blog of a small Amy Butler bag that Becky made....Again, oh so cute (although Kylie has stolen it to play will.....) but I thought i would like one a little bigger....Then I have a friend over that asks me if I've heard of Amy Butler patterns.....So between Becky and my friend, Amanda, I bought the new Amy Butler pattern and decided to make me a sling!! I was so excited and 3 days later, this is the finished product!!






No I really didn't want you to see the contents of my purse, but I wanted to show you the pockets.....also, I learned a lot on this pattern....my sewing has mainly consisted of curtains and bedskirts and aprons and easy dresses for Kylie and stuff like that....quilts....I had to learn how to use lots of interfacing and gusseting and all kinds of stuff I didn't know how to do....It was a great experiance and I would love to do more.(in fact I have 4 projects going at once now, they have to be done in 2 days because my sister is visiting!)...now I know how Becky does it...she just can't stop!!
