What???

Chuck came home from work tonight and when he walked in the door Kylie yells, "I love you Daddy!" I look at Chuck and say, "I love you too Daddy." He comes over and says to me, "I love you too Mommy." Kylie says, "What?? You mean that you are each others kids???" Funny things kids say!! And she was really serious!

Mandatory Evacuation

They have called a mandatory evacuation for the West end of Galveston, which is where our rented house is....so, NO GO....Maybe we'll get our money from the insurance people....The house might be wiped off the beach.....

I know I haven't posted in a while, but does anyone ever read this?? I don't get any comments but when I ask people they always tell me they saw it on the blog!! So I guess people do read this....I was just feeling a little like the only one who ever saw this, which is fine!! LOL

Ike take a Hike!!

Ay, ay, ay!! Kylie has never been to the beach. We have promised her a beach trip all summer and had rented a beach house ON THE BEACH!! (really ON the beach, no dunes to go over....) We have planned and looked at pictures and packed.....and then here comes a hurricane!!! Set to hit the DAY we are supposed to be there!! Even if the hurricane hits anywhere south of Galveston, we would still be on the north/east side of the storm, and being right on the beach we would not be protected from the storm surge by the seawall or even the dunes because of the particular house we rented.... I have a hard time praying for the hurricane to hit New Orleans just so we can go on vacation!!! I think the only way we could still go is if it hit east of Galveston, which I don't think will happen....

So, we are kinda stuck....we are going to wait until Thursday to decide what we are going to do. I just wish the hurricane could have waited just 2 more days!!! Augh!

Here's the view from the deck of the house we rented.....I can hear the surf right now....*sigh*
