VBS

We have VBS this week at Chuck's parents church and Kylie is big enough there to go around to all the VBS stations!! She loves it!! She participates in the big kids auditorium, too....

I'm doing snacks for all the kiddos, and even Curt is getting where he's not screaming too much when I drop him off....I meant to take my camera to get lots of pics, but I forgot it...I'll try to remember tomorrow....Kylie is so cute doing her hand motions to the 'Outrigger Island' songs!!!

First haircut and first 'big' haircut

The kids got their first 'big' haircuts this morning!! That was an experience!!


This was yesterday morning eating his oatmeal (oh, typical breakfast for this hungry boy is a cereal bar, an adult size bowl of oatmeal, and then a tray of fruit and cherrios....he's going to eat me out of house and home before he's 2!!) oh, note the hair....getting a little long....



This was after last night's bath.....could be mistaken for a girl with that hair!!! chuck has trimmed it a few times, but this will be the first going for a haircut...

Kylie took this pic because I was having to hold him down.....not bad, but he was NOT cooperating....in fact, there were lots of tears.....



The after pic....now that's a handsome little boy....not happy by any means, but handsome!!



Okay, Kylie has had a few trims at Supercuts, or whatever the place is inside walmart, but this time she decided she wanted a big girl cut, meaning with her hair washed and styled and the works....so we went to the lady that does my hair. She loved getting her hair washed, she said it felt 'pretty great!'




We got 4 inched cut off...I was tired of constantly having to have it up in a ponytail because it's getting so hot outside...she wanted it shorter, but I wouldn't get it that short!! I kept thinking of Nikki, for if I took Kylie to the salon where they live, I don't think I would have gotten a say in what they would have done to her hair!!



Blackmail picture?? Curt has taken up carrying Kylie's purses around.....

Days in Dallas

We got to spend a few days in Dallas with my sister due to the fact that I had another dental checkup....whoo hoo....the dentist....

The kids had so much fun though! Here they are having a picnic outside about to get in the splash pool...




Curt and Karalyn really enjoyed just dumping the water out!!



I don't know what Kylie was pretending to be.....a dolphin maybe?

We went to a really cool place called Planet Pizza. It's an indoor amusement park for kids....super fun!! Kylie could do everything and Curt could do a few things if he rode with Karen or I.


Kylie didn't know about the bumper cars at first, but then she liked being able to 'drive' by herself!!



This was the flying spaceship thing...Curt really wanted on there but I don't think I would have fit....



This is the roller coaster....It went a lot faster than I thought it would, but they loved it!! It went forward and then went backwards....Curt rode this with me and just loved it!!



This was the spinning 'tea cups'....Kylie loves being spun so this was right up her alley....get the girl ready for Disney!! Curt liked this one too...

What I didn't get a picture of was Kylie's favorite ride...maybe my sister will email it to me so I can post it...(hint hint)....Do you remember the pirate ships at the big amusment parks that swing back and forth?? They had a mini version of that and it took Kylie all morning to work up the courage to go on it but once she did she loved it!! She rode it 3 times before we left and is still talking about the 'swinging boat'....she said it was her absolute favorite!! I think we are ready for Disney after all these rides!! Too bad we are not going until Dec!!

I've posted about 4 new posts and have a few more to go, but they will have to wait a few days....I'm so tired!! We had a long couple of days and have a very busy weekend and I'm ready to crash....but be sure to scroll down and read!

Another school year gone by

Wow! Where has the time gone? This marks the end of the mother's day outs and pre-pre k (3's program) and next year we are officially in PreK!! Time has gone by so fast! Just yesterday she was a baby in our tiny cramped apartment in a new town where I didn't know anyone....now she's 4 1/2 going on 16!

Kylie's gymnastics had a end of year program, kinda like a recital for dance. I didn't get to go because a friend and I were doing a garage sale at our house, but Chuck and my parents got to take her. That was special because Chuck never gets to see her do her gymnastics, whereas I take her every week. She did great and after they were done and they called me from the car I could hear her yelling in the background, "I got a trophy!!" She was so excited!

Weight loss!!

I've lost 14 pounds this month!!! Now before you think I've been working out like crazy, which I need to be doing, let me tell you this was not the ideal way to loose weight! I had to have some dental work done and I couldn't eat for 3 weeks....I was only drinking instant breakfast and soup...and the occasional milkshake!!! But, I've been eating food for 2 weeks now and have kept it off and am still losing!!! Hopefully this will jump start my much needed weight loss!
